How do you treat anxiety?
Do you often avoid situations, seek reassurance, or stay constantly busy? These are common behaviors of anxious people, and unfortunately, these behaviors can prevent us from living fulfilled, authentic lives and achieving our goals. The reality is that anxiety is here to stay. Anxiety serves a useful purpose at times. Rather than work to remove anxiety altogether, I will help you learn ways to tolerate anxiety and discomfort and respond to anxiety in a healthier, more productive manner. Together, we will identify your previously used strategies to combat anxiety and shift the focus toward healthier approaches. I’ll reinforce these techniques through practice both in sessions and outside of sessions.
What can therapy do for me?
Therapy offers a warm, safe, and trusting space for your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to be explored by a licensed professional. As a therapist, I will help you establish short-term and long-term goals that you may have previously struggled to accomplish. In doing so, I expect and promote change. My role is to assist you in shaping and growing your life into one that is less burdened and more hopeful.
